TATESC COMICS launch on BOOK☆WALKER Global in English! TATESC is a new webcomic brand from the KADOKAWA group!〈KADOKAWA／BOOK WALKER〉
KADOKAWA CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Member of the Board: Takeshi Natsuno; hereinafter "KADOKAWA") and BOOK WALKER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Member of the Board: Gaku Morita) are pleased to announce the formal launch of the TATESC COMICS brand on BOOK WALKER Global at Anime NYC 2022!
TATESC (pronounced ta-te-sk) COMICS represents the KADOKAWA group’s recognition of the global expansion of the webcomic market and is the response to countless requests from fans in English-speaking countries for access to this exciting content! Deploying the wealth of its expertise and resources, KADOKAWA will release diverse genres such as “isekai,” fantasy, romance, comedy, and action, including original titles as well as adaptations of existing light novels and traditional manga. Its name derived from the Japanese “tate,” meaning vertical, and “sc” for “scrolling,” TATESC COMICS aspires to engage readers both with its initial offering and much more to come!
Fueling this initiative, BOOK WALKER Global will offer the full lineup of TATESC COMICS, with many available first exclusively on the BOOK WALKER Global platform! 24 titles are available as of 16th November, including other publisher’s titles. *See the attached appendix for the full launch list.
In order to accelerate its business to the English world, the KADOKAWA group established KADOKAWA WORLD ENTERTAINMENT, INC. in the US in January of this year and will pursue an aggressive, multifaceted strategy to activate more of its content through publishing and digital distribution.
This project is scheduled to be announced at Anime NYC 2022, on 19th November 17:15 (U.S. Eastern Time) (20th November 07:15 (Japan time)).

There are about 30,000 English light novels and manga being offered from publishers like KADOKAWA, Yen Press, J-Novel Club, Kodansha Comics, Seven Seas Entertainment, and more.
“Our mission is to bring Japanese publishing to the world faster, with more variety. We strive to create worldwide hits simultaneously, not just in Japan.”
With this motto in mind, the service not only offers eBooks, but it has also been made a priority to expand the catalog with audiobooks and plan promotions that are catered to international audiences.
